Church Services and Activities Suspended
A Message from the Deacons - 19th March 2020
We are living in unprecedented times as we face up to changes in our way of daily life that a few weeks ago we could never have imagined. But God has not changed and nor has our faith in Him as our creator, protector and saviour. We are working on ways in which we can share fellowship even as we are not able to meet together.
Earlier this week, all our mid-week activities were suspended. Now, we need to go further and announce that there will be no Sunday Services until further notice and all home groups will cease to meet. We do this with regret as we know that regular worship together is an important expression of our common faith. But circumstances leave us with no choice. Each of you will work through for yourself how to maintain your own pattern of prayer and worship in these days. Lots of new material will be available online for those of you who are connected, and on the television and radio for everyone. We hope that doing things differently can become the way in which God speaks to us in new ways, and enriches our faith.
‘The Lord will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and for evermore.’
We pray that you will find some peace and safety in these words from Psalm 121 in the coming days.
With Christian love,
We are an enthusiastic church and our Sunday meetings have a contemporary feel, with mostly modern music. We seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit when planning the service.
The weekly, Sunday morning service starts at 10.45 and finishes around 12.00 noon. During this time we pray, sing and listen to a talk which lasts about 20 minutes.
Bible teaching is always a key ingredient of our meetings together and we also provide children’s and youth programmes to run alongside those for adults.
We welcome everyone from those who have been to church all their lives to those who are just interested in discovering what the Christian faith holds.
We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month. At the end of the service, we remain in our seats and are served with bread, which we eat as we receive it. This is followed by individual cups of non-alcoholic wine, which we hold onto until everyone is ready to drink together.
If you would like someone to pray for you after the service, please head to the prayer space at the back of the Church to speak with our Prayer Ministry Team.
In addition to the weekly Sunday morning service, every couple of months we hold a service at 7pm in the evening.
The format of these evening services varies: there could be songs and a talk or video, but sometimes we explore other types of worship, prayer or meditation.
